Tributes To Marilynn Youngblood
.

It is with deep regret that we share the news that our colleague in ministry, Marilynn Marie Youngblood passed away recently.  Please send your tributes to Dilys Brooks and they will be posted on this page.

Let us comfort ourselves with these words:  Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 1st Cor 15:51-52 (NIV)

Marilynn was a great schoolmate and friend. She was funny and wise, loving and God-fearing. I'm sad that she's passed away, but I'm holding onto the hope that I'll see her again when we all get to heaven! ~C. Ray

Marilynn was an awesome prayer warrior. She was a natural nurturer. I have many fond memories of her looking out for me like an auntie. She would always find a way to reach out to me and her reaching out was always on time. I will always remember her passion for Christ and her intentionality of turning to and trusting God for everything. I look forward to being neighbors with her in heaven. ---Adrienne Townsend

I remember well the first time I heard Marilyn participate in reading of the scriptures during one of our worship services.  She stood up, composed and dignified, and began to read the scriptures.  Her voice was perfect!  She was not simply reading, but rather, she was narrating a story unfolding before our very eyes!  What a gift she had!  I remember thinking, “Wow, what a sermon, we could leave worship right now because her scripture reading WAS a sermon!”  She also played the piano for the Seminary chorus.  She was such a skillful child of God, and yet she was humble, and kind, and had a sense of humor!  She will surely be missed!--Ada Mendez

I truly did enjoy when Marilynn would visit the Church History department in the Seminary. She had a rare sense of humor and could always bring a smile to our faces. She stated things the way they were, always very open and honest regardless of the situation, accepted them, and then walked forward in faith. Glad our paths crossed on our journey toward eternity.--Fran McMullen

I recall Marilyn’s faithfulness in ministering to members at PMC. She visited, prayed for, and comforted. Her spirit will be missed. Her faith gives us an example and courage.
